MAITLAND, Fla. (August 17, 2009) – The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) – America’s oldest professional communications society – has honored Roger Pynn, APR, founder and president of Curley & Pynn Public Relations and Marketing Communications, with the association’s highest award, the John W. Dillin Professional Award.
Named after FPRA Founder Lt. Col. John W. Dillin, the prestigious award recognizes extraordinary contributions to FPRA and the public relations industry as a whole and was presented at the association’s 71st annual conference.
Pynn has a long history supporting the public relations field locally and nationwide. He is accredited by both FPRA and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and served as president for both organizations’ Central Florida chapters. Among many other contributions to FPRA, Pynn established the Orlando Area Chapter’s highly successful fundraising event “Roast and Toast” and served three terms as a vice president of the statewide organization.
In 1984, Pynn co-founded Curley & Pynn (with Joseph Curley, winner of the 1993 Dillin Award) and the firm has become one of Florida’s most award-winning agencies, most notably as the first Florida agency to win a Silver Anvil Award, PRSA’s highest award of recognition.
“Receiving the Dillin Award is a tremendous honor made even more meaningful as Curley & Pynn enters its 25th year,” said Pynn. “The true winners of this award are the outstanding professionals who come to work every day worrying about what keeps their clients awake at night and ready to look for big picture solutions to meet their needs.”
