Florida Public Relations Association Taps Roger Pynn to Serve as State President

MAITLAND, Fla. (Sept. 18, 2015) – Curley & Pynn Public Relations & Marketing Communications president, has been installed as 2015-2016 state president of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), a statewide professional organization for public relations practitioners and the oldest organization of its kind in the United States.
As state president, Pynn oversees 15 professional and 11 student chapters, spearheading FPRA’s mission to develop public relations practitioners and enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
Pynn was installed as state president during the association’s 77th annual conference in Orlando. He is a past recipient of the association’s highest and most prestigious honor, the John W. Dillin Award, named for the spirit and dedication of FPRA’s first president and founder. Pynn has also been recognized with the Past President’s Award for service to the Orlando Area Chapter, is past chair of the FPRA Counselor’s Network and served as a three-time vice president of the statewide executive committee.
Pynn has earned both the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation and is a Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC). He began his career as a reporter, bureau chief and editor for the Orlando Sentinel, later working for more than a decade in corporate and agency public relations. In 1984, Pynn co-founded Curley & Pynn, one of Florida’s oldest dedicated public relations firms representing a wide variety of clients in fields as diverse as economic development, health care, hospitality and tourism, power generation, and education.
In addition to his involvement with FPRA, Pynn serves on the board of directors for the Florida Research Consortium and the board of visitors for the Nicholson School of Communications at the University of Central Florida (UCF), his alma mater. He also chairs the Dean’s Advisory Board for the UCF College of Sciences.
