Internships with Curley & Pynn

Launch Your Career in Public Relations

At Curley & Pynn, internships are designed as real professional experiences, not observational programs. Interns contribute to live client work, receive structured feedback and gain exposure to senior leadership.

Below, you can explore internships, learn from former interns and discover how Curley & Pynn develops future communicators.

Real Work, Real Standards, Real Pay

A C&P internship is built like a professional role, not a shadowing experience. You’ll contribute to live client work, support strategic projects and learn what “good” looks like when the stakes are real. That means you get paid to be an intern at C&P. That also means clear expectations, thoughtful feedback and accountability to deadlines and quality. You’ll leave with stronger writing, sharper judgment and a better understanding of how high-reputation firms protect trust while delivering results.

Strategic Thinking You Can Take Anywhere

PR isn’t just output, it’s decision-making. At C&P, you’ll learn to start with the “why,” understand audiences and choose the right channels, messages and moments. You’ll practice thinking beyond tactics to the bigger picture: goals, stakeholders, risks and opportunities. Those instincts translate across industries and roles, giving you a foundation that helps you grow faster and contribute with confidence.

Relationships That Shape Your Career

You’ll learn alongside a team that values people and takes mentorship seriously. Interns get exposure to senior leaders, real-time coaching and a culture that expects professionalism while supporting growth. You’ll build relationships that extend beyond your internship, with guidance you can carry into interviews, new roles and early career pivots. It’s the kind of experience that expands your network and strengthens your reputation before your first full-time job.

Internship Opportunities

There are two internship tracks at Curley & Pynn: Public Relations Intern and Content & Social Media Intern. Each internship aligns with a standard school semester, so you can expect a 3–4 month experience designed to fit alongside classes, part-time work and other commitments.

We’re flexible. Interns work with their supervisor to build a schedule that supports both academic priorities and meaningful contribution. While expectations are clear and the work is real, we understand you’re balancing a lot and we aim to create an environment where you can learn, grow and do your best work without burning out.

Interning at Curley & Pynn for two semesters gave me real, hands-on experience that felt like being part of the team, not just observing from the sidelines. I supported multiple client accounts, sharpened my writing and strategic thinking and learned what it looks like to deliver thoughtful work that truly makes an impact

We’d like to give a shoutout to Karen

As both an intern and later a specialist, I was encouraged to bring something of value to every client interaction…. that mindset proved invaluable in more resource-limited environments, especially during Peace Corps service and later nonprofit leadership roles.

Fall 2016 Intern

My internship instilled a work ethic in me with strategic thinking as its foundation. I was pushed to collaborate and apply fundamental skills to unfamiliar industries while considering multiple POVs during problem solving.
