Dan Ward Named 2011 Inductee into UCF Nicholson School of Communication Hall of Fame

MAITLAND, Fla. (April 8, 2011) – The University of Central Florida Nicholson School of Communication Alumni Association has selected Curley & Pynn vice president and partner Dan Ward, APR, as its 2011 Hall of Fame inductee. The award recognizes alumni of all Nicholson School of Communication majors for their career accomplishments and professional contributions.
“It’s an honor to be selected for this award,” said Ward. “As the second-largest university in the country, UCF has produced some incredible alumni who do great things in the Communication profession. To be inducted into the Hall of Fame is truly humbling.”
Ward earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida in 1992. An active member of the university community, Ward serves on the UCF Alumni Association board of directors and UCF Nicholson School of Communication board of visitors.
Ward has practiced public relations in Florida for the past 10 years and started with Curley & Pynn in 1995. He is an accredited member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), for which he served as president of the Orlando Regional Chapter in 2004. In the community, he serves as the volunteer chair of the Red Cross of Central Florida Communications Committee.

The Nicholson School of Communication Alumni Association presented the honor to Ward at a special luncheon on Friday, April 8, at the UCF FAIRWINDS Alumni Center as part of its day-long event, COMM Day, which brings together industry professionals and communication students.
