Breaking SPAM

What happens when you hear that oxymoronic alert “Breaking News?”  I’ll wager most anyone reading this would have to say, “I stop and listen.”  I’ve often written about the news media’s insane use of the phrase, but one thing is for sure, they have us trained … and now the email spam marketers are muscling in on their turf.

As I was cleaning out my quarantine file today, I kept seeing emails with the words “Breaking News” as the subject.  One after another after another.  The news?  Green coffee extract “has sold out in many major stores,” but fear not … click here and you’ll still be able to find your supply.

Ding!  Pavlov was right.
